Hospital Admissions

We can make arrangements to admit or transfer your patient to one of our hospitals, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Please call us in advance of your patient's arrival for direct hospital admission.

For a potential direct admission (a patient you have seen or are seeing in your office), contact the Admitting Resident for the day:

Depending on the specific plan of care, your patient may be admitted to the Emergency Department of ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Children’s Hospital, Delaware or directly to the most appropriate inpatient care unit (such as surgery, neurology, oncology, cardiology and rehabilitation).

Patients may be transferred to the NCH Emergency Department, which includes round-the-clock access to pediatric specialists as well as advanced imaging capabilities. Patients may be admitted directly to the most appropriate inpatient care unit (such as surgery, neurology, oncology, cardiology, and rehabilitation), to ourÌýNeonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), or to ourÌýPediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)Ìýinpatient rooms.
