The Izzi family more than doubled in size when triplets Eva, Jenna and Maya were born several weeks early at Lankenau Hospital to first-time parents Jennifer and Michael. All three babies were healthy, weighing more than 3 lbs. at birth. About a week later, Maya was transferred from Lankenau to <a href=\"/content/nemours/us/en/locations/wilmington-ai-dupont-childrens-hospital.html\">¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Children’s Hospital, Delaware</a> when she developed necrotizing enterocolitis, a serious condition that can affect preemies.</p>\r\n<p>Maya had a successful intestinal surgery but needed to spend several weeks recovering in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Children’s Hospital, Delaware. That meant Jennifer and Michael had to run back and forth between the two hospitals’ NICUs. Their doctors, nurses and social workers at ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Children’s Hospital, Delaware recognized how exhausting the situation was for them.
